I have been thinking about writing an article. I have a private massage practice. I was thinking that this article should be on why massage is a necessity and not a luxury. In this article I want to talk about how they can find a good massage at an affordable price, due to gas prices and such people still need to make time for massage. My thing is that if I write about how to shop around and see which massage therapist might be offering a discount in a particular month or to check out the local massage school, because they offer a discounted rate on massage. I worry that I would be driving people away from my business.

Does anyone else feel that I would be doing that? Or if by writing about that I would seem unbias and therefore more credible?

Please give me your advice.

I wouldn't mention price at all!

I agree that massage can be a necessity and not a luxury. I covered this topic in my free teleclass last month.

By the way, I charge $4.99 for the audio and PDF handout of the Recession Proof Your Business teleclass tutorial, but I'll be happy to email the download link to anyone on this network for free. Just PM me with your email address.

Shellie - if your target market is poor people, then you might want to talk about where they can get discounts. But if your target audience is people in pain - they'll pay whatever it takes to stop the pain.

Any article you write needs to drive people to YOUR business, not to everyone else's. An article tells people what you know and positions you as an expert in your field. Discounts of this type cheapen the expertise factor. And not everyone is that broke... those who are won't be looking at having massages anyway.

Please send me your email address and I think you'll get some ideas from the teleclass audio and handout.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hi Shellie,

Where are you thinking of putting the article? If this is something you are looking at publishing in article directories such as Ezine Article, you can refer to the fact that there are a range of services available based on your own budget and you recommend that people search around for the best value for what they can afford.

While your ultimate goal is to drive people to YOUR business, if you want to come across as professional and a great resource, you want to offer other resources to potential clients as well.

Even if you are offering the article to a local publication, it is a good idea to let readers know that there are options available for every budget.
