Great post, Michael.
I have a 25-year old son whose favorite saying is, "I'll try to remember..." This applies to dishes, garbage night, laundry, the stuff he doesn't really want to do -- but which one of us must ultimately do. (Guess who?)
"Try" becomes the big cop-out.
I see a lot of "trying" in marketing, too.
In my own case, I'm going to "try" to master a few of the new technologies, so I can write up easy to follow instructions for my spiritual teacher clients who are not left-brain oriented.
I'm going to "try" to learn enough about audio editing to make a second income stream from my teleclasses. I'll have moved from "try" to "do" when I finally download the Audacity audio editor, and learn to use it.
I guess "Try" is like a perpetual "to do list" until the thing actually gets done.
